Pingfang District

Pingfang (平房 区/平房 区) is a municipality of the province of Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. The municipality has an area of 93.8 km ² and has about 160,000 inhabitants ( end of 2009).

History

In Pingfang was during the Second World War, the headquarters of Unit 731 There was supported by the Japanese army, which had occupied at that time, large parts of China, Research and trials, including to people who operate in the field of biological warfare.

Administrative Divisions

At the community level, the municipality is composed of six road districts and two large communities. These are:

• Road district Baoguo (保 国 街道);
• Road district Lianmeng (联盟 街道);
• Road district Xingjian (兴建 街道);
• Road district Xinjiang (新疆 街道);
• Road district Xinwei (新 伟 街道);
• Road district Youxie (友协 街道);
• Greater community Pingfang (平房 镇);
• Greater community Pingxin (平 新 镇).
