Style

The instrumentation of the album is exceptionally sparse and limited to vocals and acoustic guitar and a little piano part, but this was added later, in the title track of Pink Moon. It is therefore in contrast to Drake's other two albums that besides electric guitars and drums occasionally orchestral instruments were used. The album was recorded in just two nights in October 1971.

Reception

The album is considered as all three albums by Nick Drake considered a classic of music history and immersed in many leaderboards in music magazines on; about the list of the 500 best albums of all time by Rolling Stone in the German edition number 369 and in the U.S. version at number 320

Pink Moon " " If the music is so depressed as the texts would be " indigestible. But the unaffektierte acoustic guitar and gentle voice Drakes give the album an aura of supernatural intimacy. "
