Piper PA-46

The Piper PA -46 is a single-engine business aircraft of the U.S. aircraft manufacturer Piper Aircraft Corporation.

Development

It is a low-wing monoplane with retractable landing gear and a pressurized cabin, which is produced in metal construction. He has in its normal configuration, a capacity for 4-6 passengers. The development began in the late 1970s. The first flight of the prototype PA -46- 300T was held on 30 November 1979. The first flight of the production version of 310P was then carried out in August 1982 and approved by the FAA in September 1983. From these 404 units were produced. The cabin has a length of 3.76 m, a width of 1.26 m and a height of 1.19 m.

  • Malibu Mirage (PA -46- 350P ), improved version with new drive and 3 blade Hartzell propeller, modified electrical system and new interiors, first flight in 1998
  • Malibu Meridian (PA -46- 500TP ), improved version with new turboprop drive and 4-blade Hartzell propeller, first flight August 21, 1998
  • Matrix (PA -46- R350 - T ), latest cheaper version which in October 2007 received its type certification. It is with the same drive, the glass cockpit ( Avidyne ) and the 3 blade Hartzell propeller equipped as the Mirage, but does not have a pressurized cabin.
