Pluhův Žďár

Pluhův Zdar ( German Pluhow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 12 kilometers northwest of Jindřichův Hradec and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Vícemil is located in the southern part of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands at the foot of the 584 m high hill Sněžník.

Neighboring towns are Lipovka, Nový Dvůr and Brezina in the north, Deštná in the east, and Jižná Cervena Lhota in the south, Dírná the southwest, Nová Ves in the west and Chotěmice in the northwest.

History

Was first mentioned the village in 1267 as the property of standing in the service of Ulrich I of Neuhaus Pflugk of Rabenstein ( Pluhové z Rabštejna ). In the 15th century a fortress, which was the seat of the Lords of Pflugk Zdar ( Pluhové ze Žďáře ) was born.

A major fire devastated in 1802 large parts of the village including the castle and the estate.
