Podgórzyn, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship

Podgórzyn ( German Friedrich Thal ) is a small village in the Polish Warmian -Masurian and belongs to the urban and rural community Korsze ( Korschen ) in Kętrzyński powiat ( county Rastenburg ).

Geographical location

Podgórzyn located eleven kilometers northwest of the Powiathauptstadt Ketrzyn ( Rastenburg ) and seven miles southeast of downtown Korsze ( Korschen ) and is accessible via a side road that connects Tołkiny ( Tolksdorf ) in the province road 592 with Gudziki ( Godocken ) and on to Warnikajmy ( Warnikeim ) leads. There is a train connection via station Korsze that the rail routes of Białystok according Bartoszyce ( Bartenstein ) or Poznań over Toruń ( Thorn ) and Olsztyn ( Olsztyn ) until after Schelesnodoroschny ( Gerdauen ) in the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast ( region Königsberg ( Prussia) ) is.

History

Said to 1945 Friedrichsthal small village was founded in 1854, was once a dwelling place for the mother church Godocken (now Polish: Gudziki ). Thus, it was 1874-1945 for District Lamgarben ( Garbno ) in the district Rastenburg in the district of Königsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia. In 1905 Friedrich Thal counted 18 inhabitants.

Since 1945, Friedrich valley belongs with the new name " Podgórzyn " for Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship ( 1975-1998 Olsztyn Voivodeship ) in Poland. The place is now incorporated into the urban and rural community Korsze ( Korschen ) in the powiat Kętrzyński.

Church

By 1945, lived in a predominantly Protestant population Friedrichsthal.
