Poher

Poher a landscape in the west of Brittany, and to the east of the department of Finistère, whose name is today ( founded in 1996 ) is in the Local Government Association, " Communauté de Communes du Poher " finds. It comprises the municipalities of Carhaix- Plouguer, Cleden- Poher, Kergloff, Motreff, Plounévézel, Poullaouen and Saint- Hernin on the eastern edge of Finistère and Le Moustoir to the west of the department of Côtes- d'Armor.

In the early Middle Ages Poher was a county with the capital Vorgium, today Carhaix- Plouguer, and the sphere of a powerful noble family, later one of the provinces of the ancien régime in Brittany.
