Polar Music

Polar Music International AB was a Swedish record and music publishing company, which was founded in early 1963 by the Swedish businessmen Stig Anderson and Bengt Bernhag. The company was a subsidiary of, also founded by Stig Anderson 1960 music publishing company Sweden Music.

Polar Music had many Swedish and international musicians, singers and groups under contract. However, the most famous and successful "employees" of the Arctic were the Swedish pop group ABBA Agnetha Fältskog with the members, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni- Frid Lyngstad, who had also the Partners of the Group and the Polar Music Studios.

After contractual and financial disputes and quarrels with each ABBA members Stig Anderson Polar Music sold including almost all license and distribution rights to the trademark ABBA in 1990 at the media company Polygram, which in turn was acquired by Universal Music in the late 1990s.
