Police (Å umperk District)

Police ( German Polleitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers northeast of Mohelnice and belongs to Okres Šumperk.

Geography

Police extends in the Úsovská Highlands ( Ausseer hills ) in the valley of the brook Rohelnice. To the northwest rises the Malá Polanka (450 m) and to the south the Uhliská (293 m). South of the village liegr the pond Poličky fishpond.

Neighboring towns are Bezděkov u Usova in the north, Veleboř in the northeast, Klopina in the east, in the southeast Usov, Stavenice and Trestina the southwest, Haj, Libivá and kvetin in the west and Lukavice, Bohuslavice and Dubicko in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the year 1312 relates to the altar of the Church of Sts. Nicholas. 1343 were pledged together with eleven other villages and the town of Aussee as part of the sovereign rule Aussee Castle by John of Luxembourg to the Lords of Sternberg Police and Džbánov. Since 1437 a water mill in Džbánov is detectable. The parish existed until about 1600, after which the church in Police became a branch of the Salzkammergut parish church of St. Giles. During the Thirty Years' War, the area was devastated and deserted. In hooves register of 1677 25 property are reported for Police and Džbánov, five of which were desolate. Later Police and Džbánov grew together to a village. 1834 lived 336 people in 56 houses of Police. The village was always the rule until 1848 Aussee submissive.

After the abolition of patrimonial Polic / Polleitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district chief town and district court Müglitz. In the 1850s, began in Horkawald Klopina in iron ore mining and Džbánov an iron hammer was until the end of the 19th century operated. In 1900 the community had 447 inhabitants Polejc. 1930 lived in the village of 455 people, among them were four German. After the Munich Agreement, the place in 1938 affiliated to the German Reich and belonged until 1945 to the district chief city. 1939 Polleitz 450 inhabitants. After the Second World War, the community came back to Czechoslovakia. In the postwar period, a large part of the inhabitants left the place and moved to the border areas. In 1950, only 282 people in the 80 houses of Police. 1961 Bezděkov u Usova was incorporated and at the same time assigned to the municipality the Okres Šumperk. Between 1985 and 1990 policy was a district of Usov. In 1990, the Police Commune arose again, but Bezděkov u Usova remained at Usov. 1991 lived 260 people in 76 houses of Police.
