Polly (song)
Polly is a song by American grunge band Nirvana and was released in 1991 on their album Nevermind. Kurt Cobain wrote Polly in 1988 for the album Bleach (published in 1989). A live version is on the published 1996 album From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah. The song is about a girl from Tacoma, that held for a punk concert in 1987, raped and tortured with a blowtorch, but escaped days later. The song is written from the perspective of the perpetrator.
