Polytechnic University of Timișoara
The " Politehnica " University of Timişoara (Romanian: Universitatea " Politehnica " din Timişoara) - UPT short - is a technical state university with about 15,000 students and 900 academic staff based in the Romanian city of Timisoara. The " Politehnica " University of Timisoara was founded on November 11, 1920 by decree of the former Romanian King Ferdinand I and called Polytechnic University of Timişoara ( 1920-1948 ), Polytechnic Institute of Timisoara ( 1948-1970 ), " Traian Vuia " Polytechnic Institute of Timisoara (1970-1990), Technical University of Timişoara (1990-1995). The university is organized today in ten faculties. The former Faculty of Agriculture was established in 1990 spun off as an Agricultural and Veterinary University of the Banat.
