Pond (Australian band)

Pond is a psychedelic rock band from Perth, which has been founded in 2008 (not to be confused with Pond from Portland, USA). The cast changed continuously, core members are Kevin Parker, Jay Watson and Nick Allbrook (all three among others, Tame Impala ), Joseph Ryan ( Mink Mussel Creek ) and Jamie Terry ( The Silents ).

History

Pond was founded in 2008 in the Australian city of Perth within a musical circle of friends, brought forth its members in various formations bands like The Dee Dee Dums, GUM, Mink Mussel Creek, Space Lime Peacock, Rabbit Iceland and Tame Impala. Everyone played more or less in each band.

After the success of the album Inner Speaker of Tame Impala also became Ponds 2010 album recorded Beard, Wives, Denim eventually released into the focus of media attention and was in 2012.

On June 28, 2012 Pond played with Damo Suzuki, former vocalist of the band Can, one of the main inspirations for Pond.
