Ponědraž

Ponědraž ( German Poniedrasch, older even Ponjadrasch ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 22 km north-east of the center of České Budějovice and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Ponědrážka is on the left side of the Golden Lainsitz channel in the area of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Třeboňsko between the Lainsitz in the plane of the Trebon Basin. Surrounded is the site of several large fish ponds, to the south lies the Ponedrazsky fishpond, fishpond in the west of Záblatský and fishpond in the northwest of Bošilecký.

Neighboring towns are Ponědrážka in the north, Val and Vyšné in the northeast, Frahelž in the east, in the southeast Klec, Lomnice nad Lužnicí in the south, Záblatí the southwest, Lhotský Dvůr in the west and Lhota in the northwest.

History

Ponědraž was first documented in the year 1259th On June 11, 1261 it was donated by Wok von Rosenberg he founded the monastery Hohenfurth.
