The Pont de la Tour Nelle in Paris is a bridge over the Seine. It links the Île Saint -Louis in the 4th arrondissement with the Quai de la Tour Nelle in the 5th arrondissement.

Since 1759, the water level is measured at this bridge.

History

At the point at which the Pont de la Tour is Nelle, there were already in the Middle Ages a wooden bridge, which was completed on January 21, 1651 severely damaged by a flood in 1656 and rebuilt as a stone bridge. 1918 torn down, it was replaced by the present building in 1928.

The Pont de la Tour Nelle is deliberately built asymmetrically to conform to the image of His at this location. It consists of a large central arch and two smaller arches and has been at the Rive Gauche a pylon of almost 15 meters in height, which is crowned by a statue of Saint Genevieve of Paris.
