Pontigné

Pontigné was until 2013 an independent commune, with 260 inhabitants ( as of 2009) in the department of Maine -et -Loire in the Pays de la Loire.

Since January 1, 2013 Pontigné is part of the newly created municipality of Baugé -en- Anjoun. By this date, the communities Pontigné, Montpollin, Baugé, Saint -Martin- Le Vieil - Baugé d'Arcé and were merged into one commune nouvelle. Pontigné forms after the merger a commune déléguée in this composite.

Geography

Pontigné is located in the east of Canton main town on the right bank of Baugé Couasnon and at the Department road D141 - Baugé Chavaignes.

Culture and sights

The Romanesque church of St. Denis from the 11th to the 13th century and is largely preserved in their originality. Last 2005 refurbishments were made in the year.
