Poppo II, Margrave of Carniola

Count Poppo II (c. 1065, † 1098/1101 / 1103? ) From the house of Weimar- Orlamünde was Margrave of Istria ( 1090-1093 ). Some sources refer to him as Marquis of ( sub) Carinthia, Carniola and the Mark of the Sann.

Life

Poppos father was Ulrich I of Weimar- Orlamünde († 1070), his mother Sophia of Hungary, the daughter of King Béla I. He married Richgard († 1130 ), daughter of Engelbert I of Spanheim († 1096 ). He was Salian support and died in 1098 without male issue.
