Porto-Marathon

The Porto Marathon (Portuguese Maratona do Porto ) is a marathon, which takes place since 2004, both in October or November, in Porto (Portugal). It is organized by the Agency Runporto.com and the Clube do Porto de Veteranos. The event is also a Family Race is one of over 14 km.

Route

The start is on Rua Júlio Dinis de. At the Praça Mousinho de Albuquerque, turn in the Avenida da Boavista one. This one follows, according to a northern detour on the Bessa Stadium over to the west up to the Castelo do Queijo. Here, turn to the south and followed the coast of the Atlantic Ocean to the mouth of the Douro. On the right bank you walk up to the old town center of Ribeira. The Douro, where you cross over the Ponte Dom Luis I to Vila Nova de Gaia and completed a turning point distance downriver to the district of Vila Nova. Returned via the Dom Luís Bridge to Porto, one goes to a further commute, which passes up the river under the Ponte Maria Pia to the turning point at the Autoestrada A20, which is reached after 30 km. The last part of the route continues downstream to the confluence with the Atlantic Ocean, then north at the Castelo do Queijo over to the target at the city park.
