Portugal Telecom is a global Portuguese telecommunications company. The most important markets are Portugal ( 66.8 % ), Brazil ( 33.2%) and sub-Saharan Africa.

This includes the mobile operator TMN. In Angola, the company owns a 25 % stake in Angola's Unitel, in Namibia with 34% of MTC, in Cape Verde with 40 % of the CVT, in East Timor on the Timor Telecom with 50.1 %, and in the telephone operators in Macau and São Tomé and Príncipe significantly involved.

In February 2010, Portugal Telecom acquired the Brazilian IT companies GPTI Tecnologia de Informação SA
