Posio

Posio [ pɔsiɔ ] is a municipality in the Finnish part of Lapland.

The municipality was formed in 1926 from the northern areas of the city of Kuusamo and joined the Lääni Lapland. Next to the eponymous place Posio It comprises the main town Ahola and settlements Anetjärvi, Mäntyjärvi, Pernu, Suorsa, Peräposio, Lehtiniemi, Ristilä, Jumisko, Aittaniemi, Nolimo, Maaninkavaara, Mourujärvi, Häme ( Karjalaisenniemi ) Tolva, Suonnankylä, Hyväniemi, Lohiranta, Kuloharju, Kynsilä and Sirniö.
