Policy

As generally in the rural areas of northern Finland, the Centre Party is also in Keminmaa the strongest political force. In the local elections 2008 she missed the absolute majority scarce and represents the local council, the highest decision-making authority in local affairs, 17 of 35 deputies. The second strongest force is the Left Alliance, which is as generally disproportionately represented in Lapland. It could unite 22.4% of the vote and has eight seats are held by the local council. The Social Democrats and the National Coalition Party play, although the country belonging to the three major parties in Keminmaa with single-digit election results and two deputies in the municipal council hardly matters. With 6 seats went to local voters list Keminmaalaisten Parhaaksi ( " For the benefit of people from Keminmaa " ) into the council.
