Positive Slovenia

Pozitivna Slovenija ( German: Positive Slovenia, short PS) is a political party in Slovenia, which is situates as a left liberal.

History

The party was founded in October 2011 at the instigation of the Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Janković under the name Lista Zorana Jankovića - Pozitivna Slovenija ( German: Zoran Janković List - Positive Slovenia, short LZJ -PS).

In the 2011 general election she went to for the first time and was with 28.53 % immediately strongest party. President Danilo Türk then commissioned the party leader Zoran Janković to form a government. After negotiations with the Social Democrats (SD), the civil list (DL ) and the Pensioners' Party ( DeSUS ) an agreement in principle on a four-party coalition was achieved. However, on January 9th, 2012, two days before the crucial vote in parliament, the civil list took their offer back surprisingly. The vote ultimately failed with only 42 to 90 votes and Zoran Janković had failed as the designated head of government. Thus, the party remained only the transition into opposition.

On the second Party Congress 21 January 2012 it was renamed the Pozitivna Slovenija.

As a result of corruption charges Zoran Janković came back in January 2013 from the office of party chairman and put this up to the election of party leaders at the end of the year available. The State Anti -Corruption Authority had determined that 2.4 million euros came from the assets of Janković from dubious sources. Result of the resignation Alenka Bratušek took over as acting party chairman.

On 27 February 2013, the Slovenian parliament Bratušek elected the new prime minister, after it had Janez Janša expressed distrust. For the no-confidence vote, the PS with SD, DL and DeSUS had allied, but it was initially unclear whether all four parties will form a new coalition government.
