Post (Björk album)

Post is the total third solo album by the Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk, which was published on 13 June 1995. It is the second album, which was released after the breakup of the Sugarcubes Björk.

The album is the typical style of the sound technology of the previous album Debut (1993 ) is adopted, which is already recorded great success. In the songs of the post- album also elements of techno and dance music are, as a variation used.

As a contrast to the otherwise mainly electronically colored sound of the album post a cover version of " Blow a Fuse " was recorded, which is due to Björk's penchant for old Hollywood song genre. In the post text, originally by the American actress and singer Betty Hutton was so changed in It's Oh Quiet.

Post was created in collaboration with Nellee Hooper, Tricky, Graham Massey of 808 State, and electronica producer Howie B. With the success of the album Post, Björk could prove internationally as an independent artist. It reached the place 373 of the Rolling Stones Top 500 Albums of All Time in 2003.

Trivia

  • For the album Post numerous recordings of the songs were created, among other things, of " I Go Humble ", which was later used as a B-side and released as a bonus track.
  • Cover Me was recorded as the original recording in a cave inhabited by bats in Nassau with a dictaphone. This shot but was then discarded in favor of a studio recording.
