Poul Erik Tøjner

Poul Erik Tøjner ( born February 25, 1958 in Skanderborg ) is a Danish Museumsdirektur and art critic. Since 2000 he is Director of the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk, Denmark.

Life

Poul Erik Tøjner studied philosophy and Scandinavian Studies at the University of Copenhagen, where he in 1987 his master's degree and in 1991 with a dissertation on Søren Kierkegaard became a licentiate. As a literary and art critic, he was active first in the national Danish newspaper Kristligt Dagblad (1984-1987), then at Dagbladet Information (1987-1989) and at the weekly Weekendavisen ( 1989-2000 ). In Weekendavisen he was from 1997 to 2000 also culture editor and one of the chief editors. In 2000, he took over the post of Director of the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art and in 2007 a ​​member of the Danish Academy.
