Povoaçao Velha ( in kapverdischem Kreol [ ALUPEC ]: Povoason Bedja ) is a town in the southwest of the island of Boa Vista, Cape Verde, about 25 kilometers south of the island capital Sal Rei and 15 kilometers south of Rabil.

Povoaçao Velha has about 300 inhabitants. It is the oldest town on the island. The Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição dates from 1828.

The place is considered to be the poorest of the island.
