Prahova County
Prahova is a Romanian county ( Judet ) in the Walachia region, with the county seat Ploieşti. It is named after the river Prahova, its common abbreviation, and the license plate number are PH.
The Prahova county is bordered on the north by the county of Braşov, on the east by the county of Buzău, to the south by the circles Ialomiţa and Ilfov and to the west by the Dâmboviţa county.
The district is known for his oil resources (in the south ) and the well-developed tourism ( in the north).
Demography
In 2002, the county 829 945 inhabitants and a population density of 176 inhabitants per km ².
In the 2011 census had the Prahova County 762 886 inhabitants thus a population density of 162 inhabitants per km ².

The county has a total area of 4716 km ², equivalent to 1.97 % of the area of Romania ..
