Prince Polley

Prince Opoku Polley Bismarck Sampene ( born May 4, 1969 in Kumasi ) is a former Ghanaian football player. Polley, who played as a striker, spent most of his career in the Netherlands.

Career

The 1969-born Prince Polley began his career with 16 years at Asante Kotoko, with whom he won the Ghanaian championship three times. In 1988 he moved to the Netherlands to Ehrendivisionär Sparta Rotterdam. In the following two seasons, he played 30 league games for Sparta, scoring 16 goals. In 1990 he moved to Belgium where he played in the next two years at Beerschot VAC and KFC Germinal Ekeren. Then he returned to the Netherlands and joined Twente Enschede.

1992 Polley represented his country at the African Nations Cup in Senegal, where the team reached the second place. He was inducted into the tournament as a substitute once and scored a goal .. In the following season 1992/93 he was with eleven league goals the best scorer of Enschede.

1994 Tunisia Polley played with the Ghanaian national team again at a European Championship. In the same year he moved from Twente for SC Heerenveen, where he played in the following season. This was followed by two years at second division Excelsior Rotterdam and one season with the amateur club Heerjansdam. 1999, after a year at the Swiss FC Aarau, Polley ended his career.
