Princess Haya bint Al Hussein

Princess Haya of Jordan (Arabic Haya bint al هيا بنت الحسين - Hussein, Haya bint al -Husayn DMG, May 3, 1974) is a daughter of the late Jordanian King Hussein I. It comes from his marriage to his third wife, Alia al - Hussein of Jordan. Since 2004 she is a second wife of Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates. Since December 2, 2007, they have one daughter and one son since January 7, 2012 Zayed.

Princess Haya completed her schooling in Britain, first at the Badminton School for Girls in Bristol, then at the Bryanston School in Dorset. She studied at St Hilda's College, Oxford University, graduating with a Bachelor / Masters with honors in politics, philosophy and economics.

With a bronze medal in the individual competition in show jumping in 1992, Princess Haya is the only woman to have ever won a medal at the Pan Arab Equestrian Games. In 2000, she started as a show jumper at the Summer Olympic Games in Sydney and was at the opening ceremony flag bearer for the Jordanian team. 2002 Jerez she was the first Arab woman who participated in the World Equestrian Games.

In 2006 she was elected president of the International Equestrian Federation ( FEI ). As such, it opened on 20 August 2006, the World Equestrian Games in Aachen. In 2010, she was re-elected by the FEI General Assembly by a large majority. Princess Haya is also a member of the Honorary Committee of the Spanish Riding School.

Since early 2011, Princess Haya of Jordan is representative of the Fegentri, the world governing body of amateur rider.

Princess Haya is athlete ambassador of development organization Right to Play.
