Princess Rym

Rym Ali of Jordan (born 1969 in Cairo as Rym Brahimi / ريم الأخضر الابراهيمي ) is the wife of Jordanian Prince Ali bin al - Hussein.

Life

Rym is the daughter of Algerian diplomat Lakhdar Brahimi. She grew up in the UK and Algeria and studied in France and the United States. Your BA in Geography and MA in English Language and Literature she graduated from the University of Paris. She studied Political Science and International Relations at the Institut d' études politiques de Paris and Journalism at Columbia University.

On September 7, 2004, she married Prince Ali bin al - Hussein of Jordan. The couple has two children: Princess Jalila bint Ali (born 16 September 2005) and Prince Abdullah bin Ali (born 19 March 2007).

Profession

Before their wedding Rym Ali worked as a journalist. They started in 1998 at CNN, including 2001-2004 as a correspondent in Baghdad. Later she worked for Dubai TV, Bloomberg Television, Radio Monte Carlo and United Press International, exclusively for the BBC.

August 14, 2006 Rym Ali founded the Jordan Media Institute ( JMI ), a training center for journalists, which cooperates with the University of Jordan.

Since 2007, Rym Ali is a member of the Royal Commission of Jordan film.

Awards

Rym Ali received several journalism awards, including in July 2011, the Italian Award as Best International Journalist at the 32th International Ischia Journalism Awards Ceremony.

On September 20, 2011 Rym Ali was admitted as a Knight in the French Legion of Honour.
