Prize of the Austrian Mathematical Society

The Promotion Prize of the Austrian Mathematical Society is the highest Austrian mathematics price. It is awarded to young mathematicians or mathematicians who have come forward in an above-average extent by their mathematical research. A substantial part of the work must have been performed in Austria.

The promotion price was established at the request of Hans Hornich in the board meeting in 1955 and has been awarded since 1956. The price is € 1000 and a Medal of Honor ( the obverse shows Rudolf Inzinger, the back is reminiscent of the founding of the ÖMG ) doped and is connected to a main lecture at the next ÖMG Congress.
