Professional sumo divisions#Sandanme

The Sandanme Division (Japanese三段目, Third Grade ) is the third-lowest class in Japanese sumo. Its members include 200 fighters at ( 100 in the West and 100 in the Eastern Division ).

Unlike the wrestler lower leagues members of the haori and hakama Sandanme allowed to carry on the yukata, which is a relief especially in winter. The wooden clogs ( geta ) are replaced by more comfortable sandals ( zori ).
