Proud Flesh (band)

Proud Flesh is a German rock band from the early Krautrock era. It was founded in 1969 in the former diplomats city of Bonn - Bad Godesberg ( Germany) and separated in 1972. The group was composed of musicians from the local bands Cool Stove, Desperados, Hangmen and Council.

The repertoire consisted of their own songs and, depending on the occupation, from interpretations of, among others, Deep Purple, Spooky Tooth, Led Zeppelin, Ten Years After, Steppenwolf, Elvis, Black Sabbath, Chicago, Free, Jimi Hendrix, Vanilla Fudge and Nice.

Proud Flesh toured in Germany and Luxembourg, and also played in the interlude known bands such as The Lords, The Rattles, Golden Earring and Brian Auger Trinity.

From initial soft rock tracks on melodic progressive rock songs to your music the band got increasingly hard rock character. According to the resolutions of the band Proud Flesh two single titles were included in the track list of recent Krautrock Sampler incorporated (CD / LP).

In July 2011, came four of the former band members: Hoffmeister (vocals), Kehlbach (drums), Plenckers (guitar), and Prünte (keyboard) supplemented by Joachim Kleimann on bass, under the name rock steady in the Rhine river in the Rhine river Classics 2011. 2013 was Rolf Montenbruck (guitar) to and Rocksteady was in this current occupation Support for Foreigner at the Rhine river Classics 2013.
