Puerto Rico (El Torno)

Puerto Rico is a country town in the department of Santa Cruz in the lowlands of the South American Andean Republic of Bolivia.

Location

Puerto Rico is the third largest city of the county ( bolivian: Municipio) El Torno in the province of Andrés Ibáñez. The city lies at an altitude of 542 m directly south on the right bank of the River Pirai then to the city of El Torno.

Geography

Puerto Rico is located in the humid tropical climate on the eastern edge of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental. The region was covered before colonization by subtropical rainforest, but today it is mostly cultivated land.
