Puerto Siles

Puerto Siles is a town in the Beni Department in the lowlands of the South American Andean Republic of Bolivia.

Location in near space

Puerto Siles is the central place of the district ( bolivian: municipality ) in the province of Puerto Siles Mamoré and lies at an altitude of 138 m on the right bank of the Río Mamoré at the mouth of the Río Matucaré. A few kilometers west of the village on the opposite side of the river lies the Laguna Las Habras, a natural lake ten miles long and eight miles wide.

Geography

Puerto Siles is the Moxos level, with more than 100,000 km ², one of the largest wetlands in the world. The dominant vegetation type in the region of Puerto Siles is the tropical savannah.
