Pyeongtaek–Siheung Expressway

The Expressway 153 ( Kor. 평택 시흥 고속도로 ) is an expressway in South Korea. The highway serves as a bridge between Siheung and Pyeongtaek in the south and west of Seoul, relieving the parallel Expressway 15 The Expressway 153 is 43 km long.

Street Description

The Expressway 153 is a north-south route from Pyeongtaek about Ansan after Siheung that is to both the expressway 1 and the Expressway 15 release. The highway has 2x2 or 2x3 lanes, with relatively few departures. The 153 Expressway runs west of Expressway 15 and begins at an intersection with the Expressways 15 and 40, west of Pyeongtaek and then parallel to Expressway 15, which runs about 5 to 10 kilometers to the west of it. There are three departures to the child road network, including a descent Ansan city. In Ansan the highway ends on the Expressway 50, the tangent to the south of the city of Seoul.

History

On 31 March 2008, construction began on the highway and on 28 March 2013, the new highway between Pyeongtaek and Siheung was opened.

Other plans include an expansion south to Hongseong, parallel to Expressway 15 This part will be about 55 kilometers long and will be built 2013-2018. This would bring the highway at 108 km in total length.
