Queluz is a Portuguese city and belongs to the district of Sintra. The city formed from the three municipalities Massamá 28 176 inhabitants ( 2001), Monte Abraão 22,041 inhabitants (2001) and the municipality of the same community of Queluz. Together, the city has 78 040 inhabitants in an area of 7 km ².
It is located about 15 km north- west of Lisbon. The name goes back to the Palácio Nacional de Queluz ( " what a light !"), The summer residence of the royal house of Braganza was.
The municipality has an area of 3.6 km ² and had 27,913 inhabitants in 2001. On 24 July 1997 Queluz was awarded city rights.
