The Czech Rychlostní silnice 49 ( expressway R49 ) branches at Hulin from the D1 motorway, leading to Slovakia, where it flows as Slovak R6 at Púchov in the Slovak D 1. Before it was decided on 16 October 1996 to erect this route as R 49, the route had been planned as part of the Czech D 1. An agreement on relations between the governments of the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, which had the construction of the R49 to the subject, was signed at the ministerial level between the two countries on 20 September 2004 in Zlín. The end of September 2008, work began on the construction of the first section, which will produce a much better connection of the space Zlín with the Czech motorway and expressway network.

Building and planning

Section Hulin - Fryšták

Data:

  • Length: 17.300 km
  • Cross-section of the road: R 24.5
  • Design speed: 120 km / h
  • Hydrants: Třebětice, Holešov
  • Start of works: 30 9. 2008
  • Estimated traffic handover: October 2011
  • Designation of the section: 4901

The first section of the R49 is together with the construction of section 4902.1 - not only achieve a better integration of Zlin, but also relieve the road sections of the Silnice 47, 49 and Silnice Silnice 55 ( Fryšták Lipa, 1st section ).

The section received in December 2001, a positive judgment in assessing the impact on the environment. In January 2005, the building permit was issued. The cost is estimated at 6.5 billion crowns.

Fryšták - Lipa, 1st phase

Data:

  • Length: 1.700 km
  • Cross-section of the road: R 25.5
  • Design speed: 100 km / h
  • Junction: Fryšták
  • Start of construction: April 2009
  • Estimated traffic handover: October 2011
  • Duration of works: 2009 - 2011
  • Designation of the section: 4902nd

The section, which also includes the construction of 3.375 km long motorway feeder Fryšták - Zlin heard, is to be built together with the first portion 4901, so that simultaneous traffic release can be made.

Sections of Fryšták to the border with Slovakia

Data:

  • Fryšták - Lipa, 2nd section (length: 12,5 km; Designation: 4902.2 )
  • Lipa - Pozděchov (length: 12,5 km; designation: 4903 )
  • Pozděchov - Horni Lideč ( Length: 9.1 km; designation: 4904 )
  • Horni Lideč - Slovakian border (length: 5,5 km; designation: 4905 )

The process still running on spatial planning, environmental impact assessment and planning approval for these four remaining sections.

In September 2004, a feasibility study and cost -benefit analysis has been presented. On the basis of the intergovernmental agreement of 20 September 2004, the border crossing and the connection between the Czech and the Slovak R49 R6 Střelná the village was established.

It is also possible that these sections are first implemented only a single lane and later supplemented in the years 2018-2023 by a second roadway. This depends in particular on the financial possibilities of the Czech state or from financing to private capital from (PPP ) model.

In section Lipa - Pozděchov 3 tunnels with lengths of 233 m, 371 m and 485 m are provided. Because of strong pitch routes between the tunnel entrances and exits the construction is ( one of which was called the slow lane ) being considered in each of three lanes. The section Pozděchov - Horni Lideč should get two tunnels with lengths of 457 and 276 m, and also 3 lanes each.

In addition, three rest areas are planned on the R49, whose exact location is not yet determined. Operation and maintenance of the expressway will be ensured by two road maintenance in Fryšták and Horni Lideč.
