Rabbi Nehemiah

Rab Nechemja (also: Nehemiah ) was a Jewish scholar of the ancient world, is counted among the Tannaim of the third generation and worked around the middle of the second century AD.

He issued numerous Halachot are (especially on " clean and unclean " ) and Haggadic statements about supplies.

He was Akiba students. In the Mishnah, he is often in controversy with Judah ben Ilai.

About his life little is known, not even his father's name has survived.

According to Rabbi Yochanan Nechemja is one of the main author of the Tosefta ( Sanhedrin Babyl. 86 a).
