Rachel Bissex

Rachel Bissex (* December 27, 1956, † 20 February 2005) was an American folk singer and singer- songwriter.

Life and work

Rachel Bissex is in Newton, Massachusetts, grew up. As a 13 - year-old she gets her first guitar and learn through self-study folk standards of Joan Baez and Peter, Paul and Mary as well as writing songs.

Following her art studies Bissex moved in 1982 to Burlington, Vermont.

During her short career Bissex takes on five albums with his own songs, but also covers of Jackson Browne, Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell, among others, and opened concerts by Joan Armatrading, Arlo Guthrie, Little Feat and Ray Charles.

In 2004 Bissex changes to film and theater. She plays in the movie " Nothing Like Dreaming" and is directing the play " Sun Spot: The Crime of the Need to Be Right ," which, wrote her husband, the actor Stephen Goldberg.

Beginning of 2005 dies Rachel Bissex the age of 48 years to breast cancer ( sequences ). Her memory and to financially secure the training of Bissex ' children, Emma Goldberg and Matt Cosgrove, colleagues and friends have the tribute double CD Remembering Rachel ( 2005) published with cover versions of Rachel Bissex songs.
