Rachel Kempson
Rachel Kempson ( born May 28, 1910 in Dartmouth, United Kingdom, † 24 May 2003 in Millbrook, New York, United States) was a British actress.
Life
Kempson was born as a daughter of Beatrice Hamilton, born in Ashwell, and Eric William Edward Kempson.
Kempson studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art before she joined the Royal Shakespeare Company. In 1935 she married Michael Redgrave, and stood with him several times on the stage. Kempson is the mother of Vanessa, Lynn, Corin Redgrave and. She has appeared in several film and television productions. 1986 her autobiography Life Among the Redgrave Dutton has been published.
1959 her husband was knighted, and it was formally, Lady Redgrave. However, they used this title is not official. On 24 May 2003 she died of a stroke in the home of her granddaughter Natasha Richardson.
