Radio DeeJay

Radio DeeJay is an Italian radio station was established in 1982 in Milan. The station is part of Gruppo Editoriale L' media companies espresso.

History

First broadcast was in Milan on February 1, 1982. The transmitter by Claudio Cecchetto was founded as a successor to Radio Music 100 together with its partners Massimo Carpani, Pippo Ingrosso and Valerio Gallorini.

After the transmitter was first housed in an apartment in Via Franchetti, moved the station in 1984 to its present location in Via Massena in Milan.

At the beginning, the station focused on the music selection on New Wave. The first broadcast was an interview by Claudio Cecchetto with Larry Hagman ( the villain from Dallas ), the first DJ were Ronnie Hanson (in English) and Gerry Scotti.

Soon we received positive reviews from the regions of Northern Italy where the program was broadcast. National Radio Deejay gained fame thanks to the 80s television show DeeJay Television, who also came from the pen of Claudio Cecchetto. Thus, the broadcast was expanded in 1988 under the name Deejay Network to Italy.

In 1989, the Gruppo Editoriale L' Espresso on the transmitter, then closed it with Eleradio to Erre DJ srl together and took over while shares of Cecchetto and Gallorini. Was very busy - which was later also adopted by the Espresso Group - In November 1994, the group, the remaining shares by Claudio Cecchetto, who was then with his other project, Radio Capital took over. Thus, the Group is now on its subsidiary Elemedia in the full possession of all the shares in Radio Deejay.
