Radoľa

Radoľa ( to 1973 Slovak " Radola "; Hungarian Radola ) is a municipality in the north- west of Slovakia with 1449 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011) and is located in Okres Kysucké Nové Mesto, a circle of Žilinský kraj.

Geography

The community is located about 10 kilometers north of Žilina and two kilometers southeast of Kysucké Nové Mesto in the traditional landscape Kysuca. Through the town of Bach Vadičovský creek that flows just below the bottom in the Kysuca flows. The surrounding landscape is dominated by hill country Kysucká highlands and the Javorníky further west.

History

In the village the oldest parish of the landscape Kysuca is detected, with the first mention in the year 1332.

In the years 1973-1993 Radoľa was a part of Kysucké Nové Mesto.
