Radolin, Greater Poland Voivodeship

Radolin is a village in the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poland. It was founded in 1759 as a city, but grew only moderately in 1858 and sank down to the village.

Geographical location

The village is located in Greater Poland, about 6 km east of the city Trzcianka ( Schönlanke ). Through the town of Nice Lankans Mill Stream, which flows approximately 2 km further east in the networks flows.

History

The area on which the city was founded, belonged to the rule Behle, the Poniatowski belonged to the noble family in the 17th century and then came to the noble Radolin.

The city was in 1759 by Andreas Graf Radolinski with the permission of the Polish King Augustus III. founded. 1764, she was awarded a City privilege. In the city, draper settled, but suffered from the development of the proximity to the city Schönlanke. With the First Partition of Poland in 1772, the city came as part of the district networks to Prussia. The town then consisted of about 50 houses, but burned down in the same year. During the French period Radolin belonged to the short-lived, from 1807 to 1815 existing Duchy of Warsaw.

From 1818 to 1919 Radolin belonged to the circle Czarnikau and with this the province of Posen. The population was predominantly German and Protestant denomination; 1848 Radolin spoke out against a Polish- national reorganization of the province ( see Wielkopolska Uprising ) from. 1858 renounced Radolin on its charter. The coat of arms was first shown on the city seal ( SIGILLVM CIVITATIS RADOLINAE ) of 1760. It corresponds to the blazon of the founding family Radolin and shows the Brog, one carried by four poles thatched roof.
