Raduhn is a district of the municipality Lewitz border in the west of the county Ludwigslust - Parchim in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Geography and transport

Raduhn is located just northeast of the confluence of the Müritz- Elde waterway and the interference channel in the conservation area Lewitz. Another river is the Raduhner creek that empties into the Klinkener channel in the former municipality. Large parts of the former municipal area is used for agriculture. But there are also smaller forest areas, such as the Ruscher firs. The highest elevation in the former municipality is the high mountain with 61.9 m above sea level. NHN.

Raduhn located 15 kilometers west of Parchim and 14 kilometers south of Crivitz. Federal highway 321 runs north of the former township. The Federal Highway 24 is accessible via the junction Neustadt- Glewe.

Districts of the municipality were Raduhn and Rusch.

History

Raduhn was first mentioned in documents as Radun in 1264. The name comes from the Slavic word for Radu from happy or he was named after the Slavic locator radon or radon Radun place of the Radun.

Coinciding with the municipal election held on 7 June 2009, the municipalities Raduhn, Matzlow -Garwitz and jack merged to form the new municipality Lewitz edge.
