Rafael Lozano

Rafael Lozano Muñoz ( born January 25, 1970 in Córdoba) is a Spanish professional boxer.

Amateur

During his time amateur Muñoz participated in three Olympic Games between 1992 and 2000. In Barcelona in 1992, he left in the quarterfinals to eventual gold medalist Rogelio Marcelo. In 1996 he won in Atlanta, after which he had lost in the semifinals against Roel Velasco, the bronze medal. At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney him the catchment succeeded to the finals of the Olympic Boxturniers, but which he lost to Brahim Asloum from France.

In addition, Lozano won at the 1993 Mediterranean Games and the silver medal at the 1996 European Championships in Vejle, he finished in third place.

Professional

In 2001, Muñoz played his first 28 professional fights. In June 2004, he lost in a battle for the Spanish flyweight title against Lahcene Zemmouri by a 1:2 decision point. In December 2006, to win a title followed at his next attempt again a defeat when he lost by a technical knockout in the fourth round in the fight for the WBA Intercontinental flyweight title against Brahim Asloum.

Lozano won seven more fights, but could not win another title more than the Spanish championship.
