Raggenhorn

The Raggenhorn at Wengen in the Bavarian district Oberallgaeu and Bolsternang in Baden-Württemberg Ravensburg district is 1056.2 m above sea level. NHN high foothills of the Black ridge, the highest mountain of belonging to the foothills of the Alps Adelegg.

Geography

Location

The summit of Raggenhorns is located about 950 m south-southeast of the Black ridge, 1.4 km north-northwest of Wengen, a village in the Bavarian village of Weitnau, and 2 km northeast of Bolsternang, a district of the municipality of Württemberg Isny.

Northeast below the hilltop is the Wenger Eggalm (also Wengen Egg Alpe or Alp Wenger Egg called ). To the northeast, the landscape of the mountain along the small Rotenbach drops to Eschach. South flows past as an eastern tributary of the Lower Argen the Wengen woeful.

Nature Spatial allocation

The Raggenhorn belongs within the Alpine foothills in the geography major unit group Voralpines hill and moorland (No. 03) and in the main unit Adelegg ( 023 ) for subunit High ( Southern ) Adelegg ( 023.0 ).

Reserves

28, on the west flank of Raggenhorns, parts of the Protected Landscape Area Adelegg and related tertiary hills foothills extend up to the mountain top ( CDDA-Nr. 319 441, designated in 1994; 65.2 km ² ), and those of the bird sanctuary Adelegg ( VSG-Nr. 8226-441, 61 km ²).

Transport, walking and Events

North past Raggenhorn and black ridge leads between the Buchberger districts Eschach and Eschach Thal the Bavarian county road OA 20, which passes to the Württemberg side in the K 8045. South past runs between the villages of Wengen and Weitenauer Nelle mountain Bavarian State Street 2055th From these branches on the border of Württemberg 8019 K, which leads a side road to the south-west to below the Raggenhorns Bolsternang. For example, starting at the parking lot Eschacher pond which is located near the Eschacher pond at the OA 20, the mountain can be reached in about 45 minutes walking time. On the first two Sundays in September, a Holy Mass ( mountain mass ) is performed on the Raggenhorn respectively.
