Ragnar Kjartansson (performance artist)

Ragnar Kjartansson ( b. 1976 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic performance artist, painter, sculptor and musician ( member of the Trabant ). He was Representative of Iceland at the Venice Biennale 2009.

Ragnar Kjartansson is the son of actor, director and playwright Kjartan Ragnarsson ( b. 1945 ) and the well-known Icelandic actress Guðrún Ásmundsdóttur (* 1935). His grandfather is the sculptor and ceramist Ragnar Kjartansson, after which he was named.
