Raise Hell
Raise Hell is a Swedish Thrash-/Death-Metal-Band from Stockholm.
Band History
In 1995, Jonas Nilsson ( guitar), Niklas Sjöström (bass) and Torstein Wick Berg ( guitar) a band that has operated under the name of Frost, Vinternaat and Frozen in Time. After several auditions, they found Dennis Ekdahl a suitable drummer. They named the group then in In Cold Blood by and took a demo entitled Nailed, which earned them a deal with Nuclear Blast. This distributed the demo first under the old name, with a sticker on which the current band name was later recorded.
The band renamed themselves prior to the recording of their debut album in Raise Hell as an American hardcore band had already occupied In Cold Blood. Appeared in 1998 Holy Target. At the time of publication no member of the band was older than 18 years. Several appearances in the opening act of Dismember, Night in Gales followed and Agathodaimon and at the Wacken Open Air 1998.
1999 started the recording of Not Dead Yet. Anders Fridén of In Flames produced the album in Studio Fredman. It was published in 2000. Subsequent Raise Hell allowed to take over the support for the reunited Destruction. This summer they played again at the Wacken Open Air 2001 DVD / CD Nuclear Blast Festivals 2000 on the Raise Hell appear along with Destruction, Hypocrisy, Kataklysm and Crematory are seen.
2002 saw Wicked is My Game. Shortly after the publication Nilsson decided to focus on playing the guitar, so that a new singer was added to the band with Jimmy Fjällendahl. Nuclear Blast separated after Wicked is My Game by mutual agreement of the band. With Black Lodge, a new record company was quickly found, but now Thorstein Wick mountain got out for personal reasons. The band made in four-man cast on. Except for a limited 7 '' inch and a few appearances it became quiet around the band.
City of the Damned, their fourth album, finally appeared in 2006.
Nilsson Ekdahl and still played at Mortifer and Sins of Omission. The latter was also active as a drummer for Mystic Prophecy and Mörk Gryning.
Music style
Raise Hell is often compared in style to the Melodic Death Metal Dissection, but contains far more thrash metal elements than the foregoing. On the newer albums rock elements are increasingly heard.
The band is originally from the Black Metal scene, but was rarely taken seriously because of her young age and the Sauf and party lyrics. Her youth also gave them the nickname "Death Metal Hanson ," they could take until later.
