The Rantzau in Winseldorf
The Rantzau is a right tributary of the sturgeon in the district of Steinburg.
The Rantzau is about 15 km long and rises north-east of Peissen. From there it flows south through Ridder, thence parallel to the highway 77 south, pass under between Schlotfeld and Hohenlockstedt in a southeasterly direction, the B 206 and then flows through Winseldorf. You finally flows through a sluice and flood a pumping station at river kilometer 42.9 in the sturgeon.
Important tributaries of the Rantzau are the outfall Silzen from the Schierwaldenrath, the stone Teichgraben ( outfall Hohenlockstedt ) and the vent fields trench ( outfall Schlotfeld ). Its catchment area covers about 6,950 acres. In several of the Rantzau tapered and drained by the chimney fields trench streams is sandstructured watercourses.
