Schlotfeld

Schlotfeld is a municipality in the district of Steinburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Geography and transport

Schlotfeld is located six kilometers northeast of Itzehoe. Through the community flow of vent fields and ditch the Rantzau. The federal highways 77 and 206 run through the municipality. Besides the village Schlotfeld Amönenwarte, Miihlenweg, Oesau and Roth mills belong to the community. From 1889 to 1975, Schlotfeld station of the railway line Wrist - Itzehoe.

The place name Schlotfeld derives from the Low German slot space (the moat at the water trough ). The S-shaped shield Pitch refers to the name interpretation.
