Schenefeld, Steinburg

Schenefeld is a municipality in the district of Steinburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Competing Our village is beautiful, the community won in 1983 at the federal level silver.

Geography and transport

Schenefeld is located about 15 km north of Itzehoe on the main road 430 The Mühlenau ( Stegau ) flows through the middle of the municipality, through the built-up municipal area partly cased the dairy stream. On Siezbütteler mill pond is the Luisenbad. From 1901 to 1957 was Schenefeld station Rendsburgerstrasse circular path.

History

The village was mentioned for the first time in 1076 as Scanafeld ( protruding wood tongue).

On 1 January 2013, the previously separate municipality Siezbüttel was incorporated into Schenefeld.

As a rural event center Schenefeld is now the headquarters of the official administration of the same name.

Policy

Of the 17 seats in the municipal council, the CDU has been the local elections 2008 eleven seats, the voter community BF has four seats and the two SPD.

Attractions

Particularly worth mentioning is the built in around 826 Boniface Church, the oldest of the four churches in Holstein. The existing stone wall of the church is the oldest in Holstein. Probably Ansgar, the " missionary of the North", this church has established. The Boniface Church is also called " The Mother Church of the Holsaten ".
