Krummendiek

Krummendiek is a municipality in the district of Steinburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Geography and transport

Krummendiek is about 7 km west of Itzehoe along Route 327 (formerly Federal Road 431). The Bekau flows through the community.

History

In the 13th century a fortified manor house was built on the Bekau. 1227 was the then owner of the estate, Hartwig Busche de Crummendike, by Count Adolf IV of Holstein the surrounding countryside, including the settlement as a fief. In 1402 it passed by sale initially in the possession of the Rantzaus; then listed in the following centuries other Holstein nobility as Sehestedt and Ahlefeldt to the owners. 1657, the mansion was destroyed by the Swedes. The Good Krummendiek was rebuilt later in the church today Kleve.

In the parish is St. George's Church.

Policy

Since the local elections of 2008, the seven seats in the municipal council are held by a voter community.

Coat of arms

The "coat of arms " of the community is not writable and thus no heraldic coat of arms in the proper sense, but assign the picture seals. It was chosen after World War II in the absence of official seals, which are free of Nazi and imperial symbols of the community and is still used today.
